Tonight is our last Jazz Tellers gig in Hong Kong and it’s at Cali Cali in Tsim Tsa Tsui at 10pm tonight. Thursday (June 2nd)
We’ve had the time of our lives in Hong Kong and want to hang with you all one last time.
If you haven’t seen us yet, we’ve been having the best time at our gigs and really wish that you can come check it out!

After the most entertaining 3 off days ever we played our first two gigs yesterday starting with a really fun clinic at Island School in Central and then our first night time gig at The Backstage Live.
Tonight we’ll be rocking Peel Fresco in Lan Kwai Fong at 9:30pm, come out if you’re free, it’s a great scene and one of the hippest jazz clubs I’ve ever been to.

After a 14 hour plane ride that featured some dope Tron action, a Kevin James/Vince Vaughn vehicle about cars or something and a Discovery show that could be described as “The Odd Couple” meets “Survivorman,” Nate and I wound up getting called to play a big band rehearsal in Hong Kong’s The Fringe Club. We woke up at 8 am California time and went to bed after midnight Hong Kong time. In other words, while Lee slept like a baby in our hotel room, Nate and I were awake for over twenty four hours straight.
It wasn’t looking good for the Jazz Tellers.
And then we slept. Oh how we slept; like hibernating bears, like fishes in a mafia analogy, like a dead guy in a movie based on a Raymond Chandler novel… And now we have risen, and are ready to redefine jet-lag.
Well 14 hours later we’re in Hong Kong and it was worth every minute! We can’t wait to get started playing gigs starting with a double hit this Thursday starting with a clinic at Island School and ending at night at The Backstage, please come out to the Backstage if you’re free!

California Dreaming
We played some great gigs in California at 19 Broadway and Savanna Jazz in San Francisco. Thanks so much to everyone who came out; Nate loved the friends and family at 19 Broadway the big crowd at Savanna was great. We’ve been moving a lot of our CD’s too and we’re really happy about that, we sincerely hope that you enjoy the music if you bought one of them!
After our last gig we went and sat in at a session at Club Deluxe and it was a lot of fun.
We presented clinics at Oakland School of the Arts and Drake High School (Nate’s Alma Mata). We had a great time meeting all the students and played with some ridiculously talented kids!
Non musical highlights in California included Coleman and Nate getting down on THE spiciest buffalo wings in town, a visit to the Marin Headlands, great Mexican food in the Mission, home cooking at Nate’s house and many visits to The Silver Peso, a local dive hangout in Larkspur complete with pool, shuffle board, a crappy piano and cheap drinks. In the end, the great company was what made CA such a great time.
Special thanks to Helen, Loris, Val and Virginia for the great hospitality…Boaz, Cava Menzies, Paskal Bokar and Reyna for booking us at their venues, Tom Soden for lending us some gear, Amanda Addleman for sitting in and all the friends that made our stay so great.
We’re packing for our 14 hour flight to Hong Kong tomorrow morning, see you on the East side!
